Project Description

The project consisted of five primary facilities and associated support facilities under AAV-ACV Maintenance Facility at MCB Camp Pendleton. This included the construction of new facilities and infrastructure to support the AAVs (Amphibious Assault Vehicles) and the new ACVs (Amphibious Combat Vehicles) which consist of five new building facilities, tactical vehicle wash areas, utility improvements, and selected phased demolition work. The AAV-ACV Complex included the development of approximately 138,000 square feet of new construction with an Amphibious Maintenance Facility (48,000 square feet), a Warehouse (20,000 square feet), an Armory/Weapons Storage (10,500 square feet), shade structures for the vehicles (55,000 square feet), and a covered storage area (4,500 square feet). Additional improvements included new concrete pavement and a new asphalt concrete driveway and parking area. Christian Wheeler provided Preliminary Geotechnical Consulting and Construction Phase Geotechnical Observation and Soil Testing Services.
